(-) The children not necessarily suit with this type of learning or maybe with the parents or tutor
(-) Parents's lack of experience can cause the children's study process is not optimal

The Advantages of Homeschooling

(+) The children as a student can get full attention from the teacher (the parents or tutor)
(+) Make the children become more independent
(+) A comfortable condition to study
(+) The children can study without pressure from the Curriculum standart
(+) Flexible time and place
(+) The children can't be influenced by a bad environtment such as juvenile delinquency (kenakalan remaja)
(+) Can give the children special skill that needs long time to be learnt
(+) Very suitable for disabled children (anak cacat)

Homeschooling in Indonesia

Indonesia National Education Department said that Homeschooling (HS)categorized as an informal education that is a Family and Environtment type of independent education. Altough the government doesn't set the content and the process standard of informal education, but the result of this informal education is recognized the same as the formal education and the non-formal one after the learners pass the test which is appropriate with the National Standart Education (article 27 paragraph 10).

Homeschool as the Alternative ?

Homeschooling (HS) isn't a new thing in education sector. Many people say that HS is an alternative education but I think it is not. HS is the first form of education do by human. Why? in fact, the ancient people taught the children by themselves. And then this way of teaching developed into school. So, Homeschool is not the alternative form but the first form of human education.

As it is written Homeschooling activity is concentrated in house but it doesn't mean that Homeschooling can't be done outside the house. It can be done in every places. 'The teacher' can be the children's parents or maybe the other tutor. The activities isn't bond by space and time. It is very flexible. We can do Homeschooling in many styles. As long as it doesn't lose the main purpose of the Homeschooling itself that is to teach the children to be better in many things. Mainly in their characters and intellegences.

About Homeschooling

Homeschool is an education which the parents choose to teach their children by themselves using their own house as the place to study. The parents decide all the things about what they want to teach and how they teach. This way of teaching can create a good emotional bond between the parents and their children. And the parents don't have to worry with their children society because they can watch their children most of the time.
